The Gods of Eternal Lands
About EL Gods
In EL, gods are used as a means of increasing your ability to level in skills of your choice.
Each god and goddess is affiliated with a specific game skill. When you worship a god, you can gain a bonus in any experience you get in that god's skill. You can worship up to 3 gods, with the caveat that you cannot worship enemies. Most gods have 2 enemies, some have 1.
The Gods
- Aluwen (Defense)
- Elandria (Alchemy)
- Galienne (Tailoring)
- Glilin (Manufacturing)
- Jayden (Potion)
- LaForge (Engineering)
- Lucaa (Harvesting)
- Mortos (Attack)
- Selain (Summoning)
- Unolas (Magic)
- Xiao (Ranging)
- Zarin (Crafting)
Worship Rank &
Experience Bonus
With each god you worship, you get a worship rank. You start at rank -2, and can go as high as rank 5 (rank 4 for Zarin).
Each rank is a 4% bonus. Negative ranks give a negative bonus, so you actually lose experience being at those levels. (-2 * 4% = -8% at rank -2)
Rank 0 is no bonus. Positive ranks give a bonus, up to rank 5 which at 4% per rank gives a 20% bonus.
Increasing your rank requires you provide items. Some gods don't ask for much while some are much more costly.
The items are listed on this page. For best results, ensure you actually have all the items before you go to the priest to start worshiping the god(s) of your choice. That way you won't spend any time on low worship levels.
The bonus affects all experience you get in that skill, regardless of where it comes from. That includes Big Experience Books and all quests.
How to Worship a God
Once you have determined what skills you want a bonus in while leveling, go to the High Priest for each god you've chosen. Tell them you want to worship, then go through the rank increases for each.
When you've reached the maximum rank, there's nothing else to do. You'll keep getting bonus experience in that skill until such time that you choose to leave that particular god.
You can freely choose to leave any god at any time, and worship others. Just keep in mind you will restart at rank -2 every time, even if you worshiped that god before.
You cannot worship Lucaa (harvesting), Xiao (ranging), or Galienne (tailoring). Their high priests are not in the game, and at this point you can expect they never will be.
No Gods
(Newer Players: It's recommended you do not try the "no gods" route until you're well into the game and fully understand what this will mean when leveling your skills.)
You can also choose to not worship any gods at all, thus getting no bonus experience in any skill.
If you are absolutely certain you want to do this, you can take a negative perk called "Godless". You'll renounce any gods currently worshiped, and none of the High Priests will speak to you. The bonus is that you will get 8 pickpoints for taking the perk to use as you wish.
The Enemies of the Gods
As stated, if you worship a god, you cannot worship that god's enemies, which can be 1 or 2.
This image shows which gods are enemies. If they are directly connected by a line, they are enemies. For example: Mortos is directly connected on either side by Elandria and Aluwen, so those are his two enemies that you cannot worship. On the bottom, LaForge is directly connected to Galienne and Jayden, his enemies. However, since Galienne cannot be worshiped, he only has 1 enemy to be concerned about.
